Asian and Pacific Rim Research Integrity (APRI) Network Meeting 2017

Asian and Pacific Rim Research Integrity (APRI) Network Meeting 2017
20 – 22 February 2016, University of Hong Kong

The second APRI Network Meeting 2017 is co-hosted by the University of Hong Kong and the University of California, San Diego and will be held in Hong Kong from the 20 - 22 February.

Research by scientists, engineers, and other scholars is essential to the future of our communities, but the integrity of research is increasingly challenged by misconduct, misinformation, and inadequate training and mentoring. To meet these challenges, leaders from many nations have created the Asian and Pacific Rim Research Integrity (APRI) Network.

This meeting is aiming to further multi-national awareness, understanding and opportunities for collaboration, and is an essential step in the creation of a sustainable, robust international partnership to promote research integrity in the region.

The two and a half-day meeting will consist of plenary and breakout sessions.  The target audience will be colleagues who work in research integrity, including teachers, researchers and senior administrators, as well as those responsible for addressing allegations of research misconduct.

Limited funding is available in the form of Travel Grants if travel support is needed.

About APRI

To promote research integrity, the Asian and Pacific Rim Research Integrity (APRI) network was established during a planning committee meeting in San Francisco in February 2013.

The first formal APRI network meeting was held in 2016 in San Diego, with participation from countries/region including Australia, China, HK SAR, India, Japan, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United States and Canada.  Based on the participants' feedback, the meeting demonstrated a clear need for ongoing development.
