APEC University Leaders’ Forum 2019
Date: November 14, 2019, Santiago, Chile
Host: APRU & University of Chile
APEC economic leaders will meet in Santiago, Chile in November 2019 for the annual APEC Leaders’ Summit to engage in discussions with CEOs, university presidents and senior policymakers on issues facing the region.
The APEC University Leaders’ Forum, organized by the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), offers a neutral platform within the 2019 APEC Chile Summit for government, business and academic leaders to share insights and discuss a range of challenges, such as Economic Leadership, Skills Development and the Future of Work, Climate Change and Sustainability and Migration.
The November 14th Forum will focus on the theme ‘Women in Digital Society’ drawn from the overarching theme for APEC Chile 2019. More specifically, it will discuss the role of women, new opportunities for leadership and the predicted impact of technological developments on gender and society within the region.
Working closely with the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the APEC CEO Summit organizers, APRU and the University of Chile are bringing together top-level university presidents, senior policymakers from major global corporations, and high-level government officials with economic and industry leaders from across the region.
The APEC University Leaders’ Forum is a full-day event on November 14 at the University of Chile in Santiago, and will conclude with a formal dinner in the university’s classical courtyard.
APRU Presidents may also be invited to join panels with CEOs and government leaders during the APEC CEO Summit. Forum participants will be able to register for the APEC CEO Summit Chile, taking place on November 15-16, 2019.
