Students across APRU are encouraged to attend this student-led workshop which shares the secret to initiating successful Esports programs at universities. They will explore questions such as: What does it take to host a game or tournament? What are the best practices for securing sponsorships? How do you create an experience that raises interest and commitment for the long term? Attend this workshop to understand gaming eventsandtheir importance to a budding gaming scene at any universityand learn adaptations that can be taken during COVID-19. Students from UCLA share their perspective of running club eventsandtournaments and also share experiences in Esports from collegiate all the way up to the Pro Circuit. All APRU students and student leaders invited to attend and join the conversation.

Cathy Ge is the Director of UCLA Esports and a junior student majoring in Economics at UCLA! Cathy is incredible passionate about competitive operations and collegiate esports. Besides her work at UCLA, she also administrates tournaments for Tespa (Blizzard’s college subsidiary) and works as an observer for Blizzard. Cathy's favorite games are COD: Warzone and League of Legends.

Dillon LeDuc is the Assistant Director of UCLA Esports, and a sophomore student majoring in Financial Actuarial Mathematics. Dillon loves playing Hearthstone, and recently peaked rank 1 on the North American server. He also plays Hearthstone for UCLA.

Lauren Chen currently is the President of Bruin Gaming & UCLA Esports Marketing Director and a sophomore student double majoring in Psychology & Communications. Lauren was passionate about gaming and building community, which led to her current position outside of UCLA as a social media intern for Logitech G. Her favorite game is League of Legends.

Kate Land is the External Vice President at Bruin Gaming. Kate is a sophomore student majoring in Computer Science and is passionate about improving the gaming community. Besides her work, Kate loves building games and playing League of Legends.
Esports Engagement Coordinator, UCLA Recreation, UCLA
Sunny Yen is an Esports Engagement Coordinator at UCLA Recreation. Sunny helps develop esports initiatives across multiple departments on-campus, including partnerships, tournaments, intramurals, and more. His favorite game is League of Legends.
Cole Schwartz currently is an Esports Engagement Coordinator for UCLA Recreation, a full-time position he entered after graduating from UCLA in 2019. During his time as a student, Cole co-founded UCLA Esports and served as the program's director. His favorite games are League of Legends and Rainbow Six: Siege.
